That’s according to latest data for 2015 compiled by the Professional Association of Cleaning Companies (Aspel). The debt owed to Aspel companies by public administrations came to €518.9 million in 2015, a 16 per cent reduction on the previous year. Planned strikes by refuse collectors and street cleaners in Liverpool have been called off after a dispute over jobs and pay was resolved. Action had been suspended last week following talks between staff, contractor Amey and city mayor Joe Anderson after bins overflowed.
